  One of the closest rocket launch site to the population it serves. The site is within 20 minutes or less of most places within the Greater Metropolitan Syracuse New York Area. The close distance allows many people with their families to come out for a launch without the need to commit to a long drive and to devote an entire day to a rocket launch event. The club that operates the field, The Syracuse Rocket Club, encourages those who just want to drop by or those who want to stay for the entire day. The monthly launches from May to October are very family friendly. August is the club's big annual event will free food and special happenings. At every launch, a new comers can take a free rocket and motor to try a launch.
  
  The launches focus on low-power flights using A to G Motors. They are set up for H and I motors, but flier will need to present simulation data to assure that the flight will be within the 3200 foot waiver. Those seeking to fly J and K motor should contact the club a week before the launch. L and M motors have been known to fly on the field, but very special arrangements need to be made well before the start of the launch season.
  
  The Syracuse Rocket Club Launch Site is the third leg in the trifecta of New York State's Thurway (I-90) Rocket Community, the other two being MARS and URRG. Between these three fields, those living in New York State along the Thursday can expect to have a launch schedule almost every week from May to October.
